Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is therapy, and how does it work?
Therapy is a collaborative process between you and your therapist to help you understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and build tools to navigate life's challenges. Sessions are a space to talk openly, without judgment, at a pace that works for you.

Q: How do I know if I need therapy?
There's no single sign that means you "need" therapy — many people start simply because they want support, feel stuck, or want to understand themselves better. If something in your life feels harder than it should, that's reason enough to reach out.

Q: Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. We offer both online and in-person sessions, so you can choose whichever works best for your schedule and comfort level.

Q: What insurance do you accept?
We accept a variety of insurance plans. Contact us to verify your specific coverage before your first session.

Q: How much does therapy cost?
Rates vary depending on your coverage and session type. Contact us directly for current session rates.

Q: How long does a session last, and how often should I come?
Most sessions run about 50 minutes. Frequency depends on your individual needs and goals, which we'll discuss together — many clients start with weekly sessions and adjust from there.

Q: What can I expect from my first session?
Your first session is mostly about getting to know each other. We'll talk through what's bringing you to therapy, your history, and what you're hoping to get out of the process, so we can build a plan that fits you.

Q: Is everything I say confidential?
Yes, with a few legal exceptions common to all therapy practices (such as risk of harm to yourself or others). We'll walk you through confidentiality in detail during your first session.

Q: What therapy approaches do you use?
We draw on a mix of evidence-based approaches — including Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy — and tailor them to what works best for you.
